PASTIES
Beginning in September and ending in May members and friends of Plymouth UCC produce around 900 of these homemade "meat pies" each month. That's about 1800 pounds of meat and 3600 pounds of potatoes, not to mention the onions, flour and seasonings, to make around 8100 pasties every year.
Preparation begins several days in advance with peeling potatoes, ordering supplies and running labels to be sure all orders are filled correctly. The day of the sale begins at 4:00am for some lucky volunteers!
Orders should be placed in advance by calling the church office at 935-5727. The cost for each pasty is $3.50 and pasties may be picked up between 7am-11am on the second Saturday of each month from September through May.
